If your definition of country music is Ernest Tubb and Hank Williams this is easily Cash's most country album. In many ways, this is a tribute to the folks Cash grew up hearing on the Grand Ole Opry and, while it's interesting to hear Cash pay tribute to his musical heroes, the fact remains that almost none of these tunes are remembered as Johnny Cash songs. The exception is "Transfusion Blues," which he would later make famous as "Cocaine Blues." This album is an entertaining look at traditional country, but within the Cash catalog it's little more than an interesting vanity project.

Si su definición de la música country es Ernest Tubb y Hank Williams, esto es muy de Cash  en la mayoría de álbum de música country. En muchos sentidos, este es un homenaje de Cash a la gente que creció escuchando en el Grand Ole Opry .- Si bien es interesante escuchar a Cash rendir homenaje a sus héroes musicales, el hecho es que casi ninguno de estos temas se recuerdan las canciones de Johnny Cash . La excepción es el Blues de transfusión , que más tarde se haría famoso como "Cocaine Blues". Este álbum es una mirada divertida a nivel de country tradicional, pero dentro del catálogo de Cash es poco más que un proyecto de vanidad interesante.
